• Fieldrunners is an adventure game available as an iPhone app. The game’s goal is to defend a field with a tower against waves of increasingly larger armies. Phần mềm iBooks cho iPhone có thể hiển thị các file PDF như xem ebook (dưới dạng hình ảnh). Người dùng có thể đưa định dạng PDF thông qua iTunes bằng cách kéo thả vào thư viện iTunes, sau đó đồng bộ thông qua tab Books. Tại đây, người dùng có thể tùy chọn tải file lên máy, khi chọn, trong iBooks sẽ thêm tab PDF mới.

14. Đếm số ký tự trong tin nhắn SMS

Đây là một tính năng mới trên iOS 4. Theo đó, để chọn người dùng đi vào Settings, nhấn Messages và bấm ON trên Character Count.

15. Tìm kiếm Spotlight

Tìm kiếm Spotlight trên iOS 4 có nhiều nâng cấp hơn so với trước. Từ màn hình Home, người dùng có thể tìm cả các ký tự trong tin nhắn. Ngoài ra, máy cũng hỗ trợ tùy chọn từ Web và Wikipedia.

- Vị trí la bàn và ảnh chụp: Vào Settings/General/Location Services/On/ để chọn xác định vị trí của Camera và Compass.
- Chọn Phật Lịch hay Thiên Chúa Giáo: Vào Setting/General/International/Calendar/ chọn lịch Buddhist hay Greogorian…
- Tăng Fonts chữ: Vào Settings/General/Accessibility/Large Text/32pt text: để chọn chữ lớn cho Contacts, Mail, Mesenger và Note (phần này quá đã cho mấy ông bà già lão thị!).
- Reset có thêm Reset Keyboard Dictionary, Reset Home Screen Layout và Reset Location Warnings: Vào Settings/General/Reset/…
- Vào Camera lần đầu sẽ có thông báo Camera muốn biết bạn đang ở vị trí nào, Allow hay Don’t Allow, nếu chọn Allow khi chụp hình ở TPHCM hay ở Hanoi sau này vào Photo chọn Places sẽ thấy vị trí những hình đã chụp (chưa test phần này nhưng thấy một số ảnh tháng trước chụp ở Hanoi được phân chia rõ, các ảnh còn lại ở Saigon).
- Camera: chụp và lưu ảnh rất nhanh.
- Camera Zoom: Vào camera chụp hình ấn nhẹ vào một điểm bất kỳ sẽ thấy thanh zoom ở dưới. Zoom video thì không.
- Keyboard tiếng Việt: Vào Settings/General/Keyboard/International Keyboards/Add New Keyboard/Vietnamese sẽ có thêm hình trái cầu trong bàn phím để chọn English hay Tiếng Việt. Nhấn giữ chữ nguyên âm A, E, I, O, U hoặc D để chọn dấu, nếu không biết sử dụng Telex.
- Mesages có thêm thanh tìm kiếm (Search), thêm Character Count để đếm lượt tin nhắn.
- Mail: Có thêm hộp thoại các accounts của bạn và thông số mail chưa đọc trong inbox.
- Home Last Status: Bạn đang ở phần mềm bất kỳ khi thoát bằng Home, nếu vào lại sẽ ở hiện trạng lúc thoát. Kể cả khi đang vào phần mềm có cuộc gọi đến khi thoát vẫn về hiện trang phần mềm trước.
- Có thể tạo riêng một Folder (giống Categories cũ) cho các phần mềm.
- Không thấy có InfiniDock (chức năng kéo thêm các phần mềm vô hạn xuống thanh Dockbar để trượt ngang, và chỉnh 3, 4, 5, 6 icons… giống Five Icon Dockbar.
- Home (nhấn 1 lần) về trang Search. Vào Settings/General/Spotlight Search để chọn các định dạng tìm kiếm.
- Home (nhấn 2 lần)= MQuickdo hay Backgrounder: Nhấn Home 2 lần khi đang ở trong phần mềm bất kỳ:
. Trượt phải sẽ thấy 1 icon hình mũi tên xoay tròn, nhấn vào để khóa chức năng Portrait (không xoay ngang).
. Trượt phải thanh Dockbar để sử dụng iPod nghe nhạc.
. Trượt trái để vào thêm phần mềm khác bất kỳ, xong nhấn Home 2 lần để chọn trở về phần mềm trước. Có thể thoát các phần mềm bằng cách giữ icon 2 giây để xóa icon.
- Home (nhấn 3 lần) chuyển màn hình âm bản như phim nhựa (giống 3.1.3).
- Khi đang ở Home Screen có cuộc gọi đến, dứt cuộc gọi màn hình sẽ hiển thị các cuộc gọi gần đây (Recents Calls)
- Khi gọi đi thường xuất hiện thông báo Call Forwarding Active (Dismiss) trong 3 giây khi bên kia đổ chuông sẽ tự biến mất (khá bực mình).
- Xóa nhạc trong iPod: nhấn Edit để xóa từng bài hoặc Delete để xóa nguyên Playlist.
- Xóa video trong iPod: trượt ngang tên video để chọn xóa video (giống 3.1.3).
- Game Center: một soft mới của iOS4, đăng nhập account iTunes để chơi Games trực tuyến cùng bạn bè.
- Wallpaper: Có thể set wallpaper riêng cho Lockscreen và HomeScreen hoặc cả hai.

Ngoài ra sóng gió, wi-fi như bão táp, pin ít hao hơn nhiều, còn lướt web và download cũng mượt hơn 3.1.3.
